The Division of Hematology/Oncology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and the Tisch Cancer Institute are seeking an individual to lead the medical oncology hepatobiliary cancer clinical care and research program for the Mount Sinai Health System.

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) is an integrated health care system providing exceptional medical care to local and global communities. Encompassing the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and eight hospital campuses in the New York metropolitan area, as well as a large, regional ambulatory footprint, Mount Sinai is internationally acclaimed for its excellence in research, patient care, and education across a range of specialties.

The applicant would join the faculty in the Division of Hematology/Oncology in the Department of Medicine at Mount Sinai, and have responsibility for oversight of patient care, clinical research, training and education programs involving hepatobiliary cancer in medical oncology. The Division of Hematology/Oncology currently includes 120 faculty members, of which four currently focus exclusively on gastrointestinal cancer under the direction of Dr. Dierdre Cohen. The applicant would also collaborate with a multidisciplinary team lead by Dr. Myron Schwartz, the Henry Kaufmann Professor of Surgery and Director of Liver Surgery in the Recanati-Miller Transplantation Institute, and Director of the Center of Excellence in Liver and Bile Duct Cancer at Mount Sinai, Dr. Josep Llovet, Director of Liver Cancer Research Program, and Dr. Scott Friedman,  Dean for Therapeutic Discovery and Chief of the Division of Liver Diseases at Mount Sinai.

Position Qualifications:

  • Medical Degree from an Accredited University
  • New York Medical License
  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Medical Oncology
  • Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor with established track record of accomplishment including clinical research
  • Track record of current and/or prior NIH/NCI funding preferred but not required
  • Excellent communication, bedside manner, and organizational skills
  • A system work ethic and desire to participate in a team-oriented, performance driven health system
