The FDA’s Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research (CBER) is seeking a medical hematologist to serve as a Physician, GP-0602-14 position to serve in the Office of Tissues and Advanced Therapies (OTAT).
RESPONSIBILITIES: As a Hematologist in OTAT, the incumbent is responsible for
- Reviewing clinical trial protocols and facilitation of clinical development of these products for the treatment of hematologic disorders, such as hematologic malignancies, sickle cell disease, hemophilia, thalassemia, etc.
- Representing the agency at meetings with academic and industry sponsors of basic and clinical hematology, and at medical conferences.
QUALIFICATIONS: Must be U.S. citizen with Doctor of Medicine (M.D.), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) or equivalent from a school in the United States or Canada. Official transcripts will be required prior to appointment. Applicants must possess current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physician from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States and 4 years of graduate-level training in the specialty of the position to be filled or equivalent experience and training. U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps Officers may also apply.
SALARY: Salary is equivalent to GS-0602-14, plus physician market pay (Title 38), and is commensurate with education/experience.
