MEDICAL ONCOLOGY FACULTY POSITION– 

The McGuire Cancer Center (Veterans Affairs) and NCI-designated Massey Cancer Center and invite applications from BC/BE Medical Oncology trained physicians interested in solid tumor oncology, especially genitourinary or gastrointestinal malignancies. The position will be in the Medical service at Central Virginia VA Health Care System (CVHCS) in Richmond, VA, and the Division of Hematology, Oncology, and Palliative Care at Virginia Commonwealth University. The candidate will have a unique opportunity to work at both the McGuire Cancer Center (VA) and Massey Cancer Center (VCU) (NCI-CC).

The section is multifaceted and includes multiple physician-scientists and clinician-investigators/educators. The McGuire Cancer Center (MCC)  is a hub site for the Lung Cancer Precision Oncology Program (LPOP), a coordinating site for VA-Radiation Oncology Collaborative (VA-ROC) Network (GU and other malignancies), as well as a site of Colorectal Cancer (CRC) Cell-Genomics Consortium (VA4C). MCC also houses state-of-the-art research core facilities, including Molecular- and Radiology Research Core. The candidate will also be an integral part of the Massey Cancer Center (VCU, NCI-CC). The candidates will also have access to VA and Prostate Cancer Foundations' flagship POPCaP program.    

The primary responsibility will be patient care and education. The candidate will have an opportunity to teach approximately 15 fellows who have their weekly continuity clinic at the VA. Additionally, He/She will also conduct clinical research in Gastrointestinal or Genitourinary malignancies in close collaboration with many of the Massey Cancer Center and McGuire Cancer Center's physician-scientists and clinical investigators, and respective clinical trial offices. Qualified candidates interested in a leadership position will have the opportunity to assist with the fellowship program's administration and coordination.

Candidates should hold a doctorate - M.D., M.D./Ph.D to qualify for the position.
