The Froedtert and Medical College of Wisconsin (F&MCW) Cancer Center (CC) is seeking applications for Director of its Comprehensive Breast Cancer Program. The successful physician scientist candidate will be expected to develop, implement and lead strategic growth of the Breast Cancer Research Program and the multidisciplinary Breast Cancer Clinical Program. This will include developing innovative, coordinated patient care programs across the spectrum of breast diseases and integrating these with the robust clinical and translational research initiatives of the Cancer Center. In addition to an Endowed Chair, this position comes with a competitive start-up package. Candidates with a strong research and clinical background in Surgical Oncology, Radiation Oncology or Medical Oncology are encouraged to apply.

The MCW CC is simultaneously investing $100M in five parallel research initiatives that include Immuno-Oncology, Metabolomics, Structural & Chemical Biology, Precision Oncology, and Community-driven Research. This endowed cancer center leadership position will help build these major cross-disciplinary research initiatives and integrate them with the Comprehensive Breast Cancer Program. The Comprehensive Breast Cancer Program director will also assume a senior leadership role at the MCW CC. The qualified candidate will have an outstanding record of research accomplishments and is expected to have and maintain a vigorous, innovative, extramural and/or clinical trial funded research program. MCW is a vibrant institution intent on attracting, developing and retaining a diverse workforce and faculty body. We welcome and encourage diversity of experience, thought, and perspectives to advance excellence in science and medicine. As Eastern Wisconsin’s premier academic medical center, MCW seeks to live out the values of equity, diversity and inclusion to create a welcoming campus community with a strong culture of collaboration, partnership, and engagement with our surrounding community.

Cancer is the top strategic priority of F&MCW. F&MCW is the inpatient and outpatient market share leader in cancer care in our catchment area of Eastern Wisconsin. The Cancer Service Line delivers high-quality cancer care to over 5,000 unique new patients annually and follow-up care. All network oncology sites are NAPBC accredited. Services include ACR-accredited Breast Imaging Centers of Excellence with fellowship-trained breast imaging radiologists, genetic counseling, and high-risk assessment programs as well as robust supportive care and social services. The Comprehensive Breast Cancer Program director is expected to significantly expand the breast cancer clinical trial portfolio, building on the existing foundation of a core multidisciplinary team, a precision oncology clinic, an early phase unit, an expanding clinical trials office, and a National Clinical Trials Network (NCTN) Lead Academic Participating Sites (LAPS) grant.

Qualified candidates must have a MD, MD/PhD or equivalent degree, hold advanced associate or full professor rank, and have accomplishments in research, graduate-level teaching and scholarship commensurate with an endowed chair. Please direct any questions to Dr. James Thomas, Chair of the Comprehensive Breast Cancer Program Search Committee (jpthomas@mcw.edu). Applicants should submit a cover letter of interest, CV, summary of research accomplishments and goals, and names and contact information of five references to MCW job site MCW careers Requisition #27712.
