H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center is conducting an international search for an outstanding professional to provide exemplary leadership and assume full responsibility for all areas of management in the role of Chair, Department of Individualized Cancer Management, (DICaM).  This innovative department thematically unites experts in Precision Oncology and Genetics with clinicians across the age and treatment spectrum who specialize in Senior Adult, and Adolescent and Young Adult Oncology, as well as Survivorship.  DICaM’s mission is to provide individualized cancer care to patients and to collaboratively empower other providers and departments within the institution toward such optimization. The expectation of the DICaM Chair includes an active leadership role within Moffitt Medical Group.

 

The candidate should be an accomplished clinical leader, nationally recognized with a strong clinical and academic reputation who has the leadership competencies to further develop a critical clinical and academic department. The Chair is responsible for the continued development of a diverse workforce where the Moffitt value of Inclusion is para- mount. Additional areas of responsibility include faculty development, finance and budget, long range planning, re- source allocations, and space administration.

 

The Chair actively engages in, encourages, and fosters development of clinical and health services research and scholarly activity through collaboration with Moffitt’s basic, clinical, population and quantitative science research programs. The Chair practices medicine in an exemplary manner and provides mentorship and clinical oversight throughout the Department. Additional responsibilities include pursuit of appropriate funding mechanisms in support of research activities and representing the Department at the local, state, national, and international levels. The Chair of the Department of Individualized Cancer Management reports to the Physician in Chief of the Cancer Center.

 

Eleven physician faculty members, 3 PhD faculty members,9 genetic counselors, 1 MPH dietician and 8 APPs form the core department.  DICaM is dedicated to professional education where medical students, residents, and subspecialty fellows are trained as a core teaching affiliate of the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine.

Requirements: Candidate must have a Florida Medical License or be eligible for one, a M.D., D.O., M.D./Ph.D., or D.O./Ph.D. degree, and be board certified in medical, radiation, surgical or pediatric oncology.  Must have a minimum of 7 years experience as a medical practitioner with experience in clinical care, research, and education. Leadership qualities, including strategic vision, are essential.
