University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Hematology Oncology, is seeking a vibrant faculty member with a clinical interest in general Hematology and Medical Oncology, to practice in a hybrid academic-community cancer center!

The UT Southwestern Redbird Cancer Center brings University caliber cancer care into the South Dallas community, allowing patients with serious illness to receive treatment closer to home.

Our academically oriented physicians practice first-rate Hematology-Oncology in a community practice setting. UT Southwestern Medical Center, the only NCI designated cancer center in North Texas, offers cutting-edge clinical trials to patients and provides the local community access to all medical subspecialties and services available at UT Southwestern Medical Center.

Enjoy practicing in a state-of-the-art cancer center with on-site Infusion, Laboratory, Social Work, Dietitian, and Primary Care and other multidisciplinary services.

Place patients on a wide range of clinical trials available through UT Southwestern and enjoy full time research coordinator support. Experience enrolling patients onto clinical trials is preferred.

This practice allows you to walk in and hit-the-ground running. A vast array of benign and malignant hematology provides balance to all types of solid tumors.

This opportunity provides an academic appointment as a Clinical Educator, with academic rank commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience in the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Hematology & Oncology. UT Southwestern will invest in your continued career development. Most of your clinical activities will be based in the UTSW Redbird Cancer Center, however you will also have the opportunity to participate in clinic on the main campus in Dallas. Your main campus clinical activities will allow you to focus a portion of your practice on a specific tumor type; align with the other surgical, radiation, and medical oncologists focused on that particular malignancy, attend tumor boards, case conferences, research presentations and clinical trial meetings. You will also have the opportunity to rotate on the inpatient hematology and oncology consult services and teach Hematology-Oncology fellows, Internal Medicine residents, and medical students both in the inpatient and outpatient setting.

The experienced nursing and administrative staff provide professional and compassionate care to patients while assisting you with providing quality of care as well as productivity. UT Southwestern will provide you with a dedicated clinic nurse to enhance continuity for your patients.

The medical center utilizes the EMR Epic and Beacon, providing electronic access to your patient’s information with the ability to access the EMR from home. Telephone call is shared among Hematology & Oncology faculty at UTSW, which is conducive to a great quality of life.

The successful candidate must be passionate about providing excellent and compassionate care to patients. The ideal candidate must have an M.D. degree or equivalent, from an approved LCME medical school, and satisfactory completion of an Internal Medicine residency program from an ACGME accredited program. Candidates must be eligible for Texas medical licensure, be board certified in both Hematology and Oncology. It is expected that the candidate will participate in clinical patient care at the Redbird Clinic and with the teaching and training of medical students, house staff and fellows.
