Breast Medical Oncologist – MedStar Washington Hospital Center

The Washington Cancer Institute at MedStar Washington Hospital Center is inviting applications for a BE/BC medical oncologist with strong clinical and research focus in breast cancer. Successful candidates will be a clinically active member in our multi-disciplinary breast cancer program with strong clinical skills, research interests, and provide outstanding teaching to fellows and residents. 

MedStar Washington Hospital Center is a 950-bed acute care academic medical center located in midtown Washington, D.C.  Along with MedStar Georgetown University Medical Center, MedStar Washington Hospital Center is part of the MedStar Health System and is the largest not-for-profit healthcare provider in Washington, D.C., serving as a major tertiary care hospital for the region. The Washington Cancer Institute at MedStar Washington Hospital Center actively participates with the Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center at Georgetown University in clinical care, fellow education, as well as translational, clinical, and population research. 

The Hematology-Oncology section at the Washington Cancer Institute includes 14 full-time physicians, 10 advanced practice providers, and the attending physician staff in the Department of Medicine includes >100 full-time teaching faculty and >400 voluntary staff.  The breast cancer program is supported by multi-disciplinary teams from medical oncology, breast surgical oncology, radiation oncology, plastic surgery, pathology, radiology, genetics, clinical nutrition, research staff, clinical social workers, and dedicated clinical and support staff, including patient navigators.

In addition to a competitive salary and benefits, full-time Washington Cancer Institute faculty are eligible for academic faculty appointments at Georgetown University and membership with Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center.
