The Hematology-Oncology Division at the Wilmot Cancer Institute, located at the University of Rochester, is recruiting an outstanding board-certified geriatric hematology-oncology physician for an expanding academic and clinical program. S/he will join a team of geriatric oncologists and hematologists/oncologists and who work collaboratively with the other members of the Division. Candidates will need to have board certification in Geriatrics as well as Hematology and/or Oncology.

Successful MD, MD/PhD, DO or MBBCh degree applicants will have demonstrated or have the potential for outstanding research relevant to geriatric hematology-oncology. The applicant will be expected to establish or have established independent or collaborative research programs having the potential for NIH level grant or other lines of funding support including therapeutic clinical trials for older adults. Additionally, the candidate will be expected to advise fellows, residents and medical students and should possess creativity and strong interpersonal skills to work with a diverse faculty will be essential. There is the opportunity for leadership of geriatric oncology/geriatric hematology-oncology efforts either in education or research. Clinical care roles will be tailored to the individual’s interests and clinical growth opportunities and could include regional care delivery and growth in the geriatric hematology/oncology service line. The Geriatric Oncology Research Group and Clinical Service Line is amongst the largest in the country and is integrated in Wilmot Cancer Institute and University of Rochester NCI Community Oncology Research Program.
