Job Title: Assistant Professor

The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Department of Lymphoma/Myeloma, is recruiting for a clinical research faculty member with sub-specialty of lymphoma. Physicians who have extensive research experience in clinical investigation and outcomes research, particular focus in data science and clinical epidemiology research in lymphomas are strongly encouraged to apply. Faculty rank and space will be provided consistent with experience. Generous start-up resources will be provided per institutional policy. The successful candidate will actively engage in research of data science and early phase clinical trials with novel design in lymphoma to enhance the academic environment of the department. The candidate will have protected time to lead and develop programs, translational clinical research and scholarly activities in keeping within the goals of the department. The selected candidate will seek appropriate funding mechanisms to support translational and clinical research, and assist with mentoring young faculty, fellows, and other trainees, as well as contribute to the overall mission of the department. There are multiple opportunities for collaboration with other clinicians, biostatisticians, scientists and physician-scientists within the institution and a joint faculty appointment in The University of Texas Health Science Center.

The successful candidate will have a M.D., or M.D. and Ph.D. degrees, with those holding an M.D. having demonstrated the ability to practice medicine, Oncology in particular. Candidates with an M.D. must be American Board of Medical Specialisties (ABMS) certified clinicians in their primary speciality and board eligible for sub-speciality certification. Candidates must show evidence of commitment to scholarly activity and proof of scientific accomplishments. Candidiates should possess excellent writing and communication skills as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications, presentation skills for professional meetings, and the demonstrated ability to obtain extramural funding for translational research. MD Anderson Cancer Center offers many opportunities in a growing and vibrant research, clinical, and training environment.

The salary range is $240,000-$323,000 and will be based on the applicant’s qualifications and experience.
