The Division of Oncology in the Department of Medicine at Stanford University seeks a board-certified melanoma clinical investigator as Assistant, Associate, or Professor in the Medical Center Line.

The major criteria for appointment for faculty in the Medical Center Line shall be excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, clinical teaching, scholarly activity that advances clinical medicine, and institutional service appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill. Faculty rank will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.

Candidates should have an MD or MD/PhD and be board certified or eligible in Oncology or Hematology/Oncology. The successful applicant should be a trained clinical investigator with a strong publication record and a demonstrated track record or the trajectory to secure research funding. Experience in clinical/translational investigation is desirable.

We expect the successful candidate to expand the strong Cutaneous Oncology programs in clinical, translational, and population health research and to teach fellows in the inpatient and outpatient settings. This physician will participate in the melanoma oncology clinics of the interdisciplinary Pigmented Lesion and Melanoma Program; he/she will also be part of the larger Cancer Care Program in Cutaneous Oncology, comprising high-risk nonmelanoma skin cancers (i.e, cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma, advanced basal cell carcinoma, and Merkel cell carcinoma). The Division of Oncology benefits from an outstanding scientific and clinical environment at Stanford, including active collaborations with the basic science departments and the Stanford Institutes, including the Stem Cell Institute, the Immunity, Transplantation, and Infection Institute, and the Cancer Institute. For more information about existing programs, see http://cancer.stanford.edu/skincancer/expertise.html.

The Department of Medicine, School of Medicine, and Stanford University value faculty who are committed to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion. Candidates may optionally include as part of their research or teaching statement a brief discussion of how their work will further these ideals.

Stanford is an equal employment opportunity and affirmative action employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law. Stanford welcomes applications from all who would bring additional dimensions to the University’s research, teaching and clinical missions.

Candidates should submit a statement of research interests, curriculum vitae, and the names of three references, to apply for position #76243, at https://apptrkr.com/2794077/
