Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center invites applications for faculty positions at the level of Assistant Member (Professor) in the Department of Cancer Prevention & Control | Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center - Buffalo, NY.  Roswell Park is a vibrant, free-standing NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center dedicated to one shared mission: to understand, prevent and cure cancer.  As such, researchers in our group have a wealth of opportunities to collaborate with others who are all focused on cancer, including clinicians, basic scientists, pathologists, and investigators from the other Cancer Center Support Grant (CCSG) programs, such as tumor immunology, cell stress, genetics and genomics and developmental therapeutics  CCSG Research Programs | Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center - Buffalo, NY. These collaborations and the focused nature of our cancer center greatly facilitate team science and exciting collaborations across disciplines.  Current faculty members have ongoing research in molecular epidemiology, cancer health disparities and health equity, factors that affect cancer outcomes, and behavioral interventions to reduce cancer risk, morbidity, and mortality. The incumbent will have the opportunity to work with a diverse group of faculty and students both within Roswell Park and at the State University of New York at Buffalo, including the Jacobs Medical School. Center members have access to extensive Shared Resources for research Shared Resources | Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center - Buffalo, NY including a DataBank and BioRepository housing blood samples and data from > 40,000 cancer patients and non-cancer controls, and the Pathology Network Shared Resource, with tumor specimens with detailed annotation available, many in the form of tissue microarrays (TMAs),  and linkage with blood samples and clinical and outcome data. We have an exceptional Genomics Shared resource with technical capabilities for numerous high-throughput molecular assays, and extensive Biostatistics and Bioinformatics support. 

Candidates must have a doctoral degree with a background in research in cancer prevention and control and show productivity commensurate with level of appointment.  We are particularly interested in applications from scientists with expertise in biopsychosocial mechanisms that contribute to cancer outcomes, behavioral interventionists who work with diverse patient populations, and those with expertise in studying multi-level factors in relation to cancer risk and outcomes; researchers from underrepresented minorities are encouraged to apply.

Selection will be based on excellence in research, evidence of success in obtaining peer-reviewed funding, and potential to maintain an outstanding independent research program focused on trans-disciplinary cancer research.
