Job Details

Hematologist Opportunity
Hartford HealthCare Cancer Institute

Hartford HealthCare, the largest integrated delivery system in Connecticut, seeks a BC/BE Hematologist to join our Hematology Service. The hematology service resides within the Cancer Institute and includes 7 clinical hematologists who work collaboratively with the Medical Director of Transfusion Services in the Pathology Department.

About the Cancer Institute at Hartford HealthCare:

The Cancer Institute is the charter member of the Memorial Sloan Kettering (MSK) Cancer Alliance whose mission is to accelerate the transfer of knowledge from academic medical centers to community healthcare delivery systems.  A new Phase 1 Clinical Trials Unit at Hartford Hospital recently opened through the MSK collaboration.  Together with MSK we have a shared care model for BMT patients with ground breaking initiatives in telemedicine, data interoperability and physician education that have improved the pre and post-transplant care of autologous, allogeneic and CAR-T cell transplant patients.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a compassionate hematologist-oncologist who is interested in joining a team of clinicians and administrators building a new model for cancer care delivery and clinical research.

About Hartford HealthCare:

Hartford HealthCare is the most comprehensive, integrated health care system in CT that employs over 2,500 providers in over 400 practice locations throughout Connecticut, seven acute care hospitals including Hartford Hospital, one of the largest academic and surgical hospitals in the northeast, thriving community teaching hospitals, and one of the largest, physician-led, multi-specialty medical groups in New England.

This means MORE OPTIONS to propel careers to new heights and all within a deeply embedded culture of inclusion, innovation, and focus on the highest quality of care. We are teachers, researchers, leaders and, most of all, caregivers.

Hartford Hospital is a level 1 trauma center with a cardiac transplant program that is rated in the top 10 in the country along with busy solid organ transplant programs for liver and kidney.   The vascular surgery program led the development of the national Hartford Consensus guidelines on mass casualty bleeding control. Our obstetricians deliver 4,000 births per year with established high risk obstetrics and maternal-fetal medicine programs.

Our location:

Connecticut is located within two hours of Boston and New York City, and offers you and your family access to the finest schools in the nation, four beautiful seasons of recreational activities, and options to live near the shore, in leafy suburbs, or in vibrant urban areas.
