Upper Chesapeake Hematology & Oncology Services, an affiliate of University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Health (UM UCH), has a full-time position available for a BE/BC hematology/oncology physician.  The practice has two locations – one in the Kaufman Cancer Center, an affiliate of University of Maryland’s Greenebaum Cancer Center (an NCI Comprehensive Cancer Center), and one on a new UM UCH Medical Campus in Aberdeen.

Details:

This well-respected practice is currently compromised of six physicians and five nurse practitioners.  The practice is NCQA recognized and an oncology medical home.  The practice prides itself on the provision of high quality, evidence based, clinically efficient, and compassionate care (inclusive of multi-disciplinary clinics and tumor boards).  Fully optimized Epic IT system is utilized.

The Kaufman Cancer Center is accredited by the American College of Surgeons’ Commission on Cancer and National Accreditation Program Breast Cancer; its service offerings include medical oncology, surgical oncology, radiation oncology, infusion services, genetic counseling, palliative care, supportive services, research and integrative health services.

This position offers a competitive compensation package inclusive of 1:6 call, one day per week for administrative activities, 5 weeks vacation, 1 week paid CME.  Hospitalist team serves as the attending for inpatients; inpatient unit is within walking distance from one clinic location.   Organizational structure offers the best of both worlds in being a member of a regional academic system while maintaining a strong connection to the community in the care provided.  Medical staff is collegial and administration is engaged and supportive.
