At the direction of the DCC Medical Oncology Section Chief, provides care to patients with a breast cancer diagnosis at Dartmouth Cancer Center in Lebanon, NH and Dartmouth Cancer Center in St. Johnsbury, VT provides oversight to the Familial Cancer Program, develops new breast cancer research clinical trials, and participates in cancer educational programs.

  1. Clinical Responsibilities (60%)
    1. Outpatient
      1. Provide clinical excellence and coordination of care to breast cancer patients at DCC Lebanon and DCC St. Johnsbury.
      2. Participate in subspecialty and interdisciplinary clinics.
      3. Actively participate in quality and patient safety improvement initiatives.
      4. Meet RVU benchmark as established by DHC per specialty.
    2. Inpatient
      1. Round on inpatient unit(s) when on-call.
      2. Communicate in an efficient manner with the hospitalists, radiologists, pathologists, and subspecialists in order to offer best clinical care.
      3. Respond promptly and with professionalism to medical oncology consult requests.

II. Research Responsibilities (20%)

  1. Participate fully in clinical research activities at DCC.
  2. Accrual of patients to new and/or ongoing cooperative and industry clinical trials.
  3. Contribute to clinical research activities as part of patient care.
  4. Open new clinical trials in breast cancer.
  5. Support accrual on Dartmouth and non-Dartmouth clinical trials.

III.    Teaching (10%)

  1. Participate in educating the medical staff on a regular basis by answering their questions and offering teaching materials.
  2. Teach medical, pharmacology, PA/NP students on site and at the main campus in Lebanon.
  3. Participate in teaching activities within the hematology and oncology fellowship program.
  4. Participate in the core lecture series for hematology and oncology fellows at DHMC.
  5. Participate in Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center graduate and continuing medical education
  6. Participate in Hematology/Oncology section and institutional CME programs.
  7. Join in public and community education programs.
  8. Administrative Responsibilities (10%)
  9. Provide leadership, vision/strategy, and oversight for the DCC Familial Cancer Program.
  10. Integrate with the faculty and staff of the Comprehensive Breast Program to foster research opportunities, enhance communication and jointly develop the subspecialty program.
  11. Attend and represent DCC in community events.
     

Qualifications:
Applicants must be Board eligible/certified in hematology and oncology and eligible for licensure in New Hampshire.
