The Associate Director – Commercial Innovation Process Lead at Genmab will lead the innovation incubation framework and support the exploration of capabilities in alignment with Genmab's commercial innovation strategy. He/she will report to the Director of Commercial Innovation.

The Associate Director will be responsible for:

  • Drive the commercial innovation process (i.e., Commercial Innovation Lab) from ideation through execution
  • Ensure all projects are assessed through appropriate governance and risk management forums
  • Own the Innovation framework (i.e., Commercial Innovation Lab) and support multiple experiment teams at different stages of development
  • Act as an internal ‘incubator” and bring structure and discipline to advance adjacent and transformational innovation exploration
  • Guarantee all experiments, progress, and learnings are shared (i.e., metrics, dashboards) to enable transparency and alignment across stakeholders
  • Overall continuous improvement lead for the innovation framework
  • Serve as the expert consultant on the innovation framework built on the principles of agile, lean sigma, and design thinking

Build collaborative relationships with an ecosystem of external (e.g., build teams, incubators, startups) and internal (Innovation Collective, R&D, Digital Health, Digital Solutions) partners to advance co-creation opportunities. Create an agile culture and innovative mindset within the commercial team at Genmab.

 

The Associate Director should be a visionary with strong program implementation experience. This position requires extensive experience collaborating with and influencing senior and mid-level staff.

Essential Functions

  • Owner of Genmab’s commercial innovation framework (Commercial Innovation Lab) inclusive of guiding projects to deliver transformational solutions for customers and making necessary improvements to enhance processes
  • Collaborates with global and U.S. stakeholders to drive commercial innovation
  • Provides oversight on innovation projects to ensure alignment with strategic focus areas
  • Manages innovation projects to ensure prioritization and progress through the innovation framework
  • Maintains portfolio of projects, experiments, and backlog of opportunities to ensure visibility
  • Leads teams through the innovation phases (discovery, ideation, test and learn, and scale) and assists in removing barriers to the agile process
  • Leads the development and measurement of key performance indicators to track progress with a focus on speed and value
  • Supports the commercial innovation team’s updates to senior and executive management
  • Maintains regular and timely communication between all internal and external stakeholders
  • Drives agile mindset, challenges the status quo, and fosters an innovative mindset within commercial at Genmab

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is required. Degree in Business, Technology, Healthcare, or related area preferred
  • Advanced degree in business management (MBA) is preferred
  • 8+ years in portfolio/ program management, business, technology, or healthcare-related experience required OR a minimum of 6 years of experience in program management, business, technology, or healthcare-related experience with an advanced degree plus 3 years in innovation or pharma industry experience is required
  • Agile, Lean Sigma, Scrum, Design Thinking certification preferred
  • Product owner or small startup experience a plus
  • Demonstrated experience introducing new and innovative technologies that enable improved business performance across a variety of functions
  • Proven ability to influence senior management & drive senior level meetings
  • Demonstrated high-level engagement of both internal/external stakeholders at varying levels within an organization
  • Proven strategic thought leadership and demonstrated experience driving innovation
  • Strong analytical capabilities and ability to synthesize complex information into simplified, user-friendly, persuasive formats and presentations
  • Ability to adapt to changing business requirements and operate at both the strategic and tactical level
  • Proven ability to effectively prioritize multiple and competing tasks, follow-up in a timely manner, anticipate challenges, and work independently
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement and collaboration
  • Strong command of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Uncompromising ethics and high standard of personal integrit
