The George Washington University Medical Faculty Associates (MFA), and the George Washington Cancer Center (GWCC) are seeking an oncologist to join the faculty as Associate Cancer Director for Clinical Research who will provide leadership and direction, in collaboration with other members of the senior leadership team, for the development and growth of a robust clinical research program.

The MFA is an independent, non-profit clinical practice group affiliated with the George Washington University. The Division of Hematology and Oncology is an expanding division within the evolving, multidisciplinary Cancer Service Line of the academic medical enterprise.

The GWCC brings together the resources of the University, the MFA, and the GW University Hospital to expand current research efforts in the fight against cancer and to position our institution as the premier cancer care provider in the Washington, D.C. area. The GW Cancer Center provides outstanding cancer care, conducts groundbreaking research, and offers high-quality education, training, and community outreach programs.

The incumbent will be responsible for 1) evolving and directing the overall clinical research effort, 2) ensuring the protocol review and monitoring systems (PRMS) adhere to NCI guidelines, 3) facilitating and mentoring faculty research efforts, 4) providing medical and scientific support and leadership for the Clinical Trials Office, 5) managing a personal portfolio of independent investigation, and 6) expanding and enhancing access to the diverse population we serve.

This appointment will be made at a rank of associate or full professor and salary commensurate with experience and qualifications. Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must be Board certified/eligible in Hematology and/or Medical Oncology at the time of appointment and eligible for licensure in the District of Columbia. Applicants must be at the associate professor rank or higher and have a demonstrated track record in clinical and translational sciences.
