The Department of Neuro-Oncology at the UT MD Anderson Cancer Center invites applications for a full-time, Open Rank, Clinical Faculty Appointment (CFA) position. This faculty position will report to the chair of the Department of Neuro-Oncology.  Candidates with strong clinical training and an academic interest in the management of patients with neurological complications of cancer as well as neurological malignancies are encouraged to apply. While the position is predominantly clinical in nature, it is anticipated that candidates will also engage in research and scholarly activities and actively contribute to the department’s academic and educational efforts. Additionally, candidates who demonstrate academic potential and/or track record for clinical research that can be competitive for funded research, clinically impactful publications or history of funding opportunities would be highly competitive for this position.

This position requires the ability to synthesize information, formulate creative approaches for investigative inquiry, and function in a team environment.  Refer to the Neuro-Oncology webpage for additional information about the department and its programs.

The successful candidate will be able to:

-  Practice clinical medicine in an exemplary manner.  Must be capable of providing complete and thorough history and physical patient examinations and be able to perform invasive procedures as dictated by the physician's subspecialty.

-  Keep abreast of current approaches in the management of patients through attendance at continuing education conferences in the specialty. Provide a role model as a practitioner for faculty, fellows, residents and students. Provide peer review for assessing the clinical practice of faculty within the department.

-  Actively engage in clinical research and scholarly activities to enhance the academic environment of the department. Develop programs of clinical research and scholarly activities in keeping within the goals of the department.

- Provide a balanced and integrated educational program for medical students, residents, and fellows. Attend and participate in division/department teaching and continuing education.

-  Represent the Department in local, regional, state, and national matters pertaining to the field.

Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. and should be board-certified or board-eligible by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and be eligible for medical licensure in Texas.
