One Brooklyn Health is seeking an innovative physician leader to serve as the Chief of Hematology/Oncology and Co-Director for our founding Cancer Center. The Department of Medicine is at the center of OBH’s patient care mission throughout its three hospital campuses and 27 ambulatory care sites. We train hundreds of medical students, 228 medicine residents and fellows in multiple disciplines, including 9 in hematology/oncology. Our doctors are leaders in patient care, team work, process improvement, and teaching the next generation.
The OBH Chief of Hematology/Oncology will create and implement a strategic vision for patient-oriented cancer care services and ensure the delivery of evidence-based cancer care and cancer screening to the community. This physician leader will collaborate with OBH’s clinical, ambulatory, and administrative leadership to ensure the delivery of high quality, safe and effective care in a welcoming, patient-centric environment. The successful candidate will have leadership experience within a community cancer center and will possess a dynamic and collaborative leadership style, excellent organization and communication skills, programmatic development abilities, skills in process improvement and talent aligning stakeholders to a common vision and goal.
The cancer program at OBH has a recently renovated and state-of-the-art Radiation Oncology suite with stereotactic body radiation therapy and stereotactic radiosurgery capabilities. The Department of Surgery has active Neurosurgery, ENT, and fellowship-trained Thoracic, Hepatobiliary, Colorectal, and Breast surgeons. The physician leader will also collaborate with Interventional Radiology utilizing the full spectrum of IR services to include image-guided biopsy, implantable venous access, locoregional tumor therapy (percutaneous ablation, chemo- and radio-embolization).
- License to practice medicine in New York State.
- Board Certification in Medical Oncology.
- Five or more years of leadership experience in a multidisciplinary cancer program in a teaching hospital.
- Chief Medical Officer (as Cancer Center Co-Director)
- Chairperson of Medicine (as Chief of Hematology/Oncology)
