Job Details

The Vanderbilt University Medical Center Department of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery seeks a collaborative, independent scientist to assist with interrogating specimens from interventional clinical trials in head and neck cancer. 

The position will need expertise in multiplex protein and bulk/single cell RNA data collection and analysis. An understanding of cancer biology and therapeutic interventions is important to serve in this translational role. This position could be or lead to a tenure-track position within the clinical department and as such they will be expected to work collaboratively with the faculty within the division of head and neck surgery to develop novel insights into the biology of cancer and potential targets for therapy.  The position will provide oversight of an independent laboratory and expected to obtain funding to cover 90% of salary.  Background experience in optical imaging/fluorescence, clinical trials, image processing, and analysis of large/complex datasets preferred.  Please specifically address areas of expertise in the one page letter of intent.
