The LSU Health Sciences Center, Department of Medicine, Section of Hematology Oncology in New Orleans, LA seeks an enthusiastic and dynamic Board Certified/Board Eligible (or equivalent) Hematologist Oncologist. Academic appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor (non-tenure, clinical track). This unique position offers candidates an opportunity to practice community clinical oncology in conjunction with an academic appointment. A strong interest in and commitment to building a community-based program is required.

The position will focus predominantly in the ambulatory care of patients at West Jefferson Medical Center. Inpatient consultation and call coverage shared with other members of the practice. Educational responsibilities include supervision and instruction of hematology oncology fellows as well as medical students, residents, and other learners from the multi-disciplinary LSUHSC community. Faculty members are expected to contribute to the advancement of scholarly or educational activities within the Department. The Clinical Research Program includes the Gulf South Clinical Trials Network as well as industry sponsored trials and the opportunity to develop investigator initiated trials. A robust basic-science program in cancer through the Stanley S. Scott Cancer Center provides opportunities for collaborative and translational research activities.
