The Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology/Oncology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center, are inviting applications from highly qualified junior and/or midcareer physicians at the Assistant Professor level for the expanding Bone Marrow Transplantation (BMT) and Cell Therapy Program at Columbia University Irving Medical Center (CUIMC). The BMT program is seeking to recruit a new faculty member with strong clinical skills and an interest in developing or continuing clinical and/or translational research programs with a particular focus on allogeneic transplant and immune effector cell therapy. The BMT program at CUIMC under the leadership of Dr. Markus Mapara has undergone a major expansion. In addition to standard autologous and allogeneic transplants, the program has a large portfolio of clinical research trials offering highly innovative treatment modalities including CAR T cell therapy for hematologic malignancies and solid tumors and gene therapy for non-malignant hematologic disorders. The BMT program at CUIMC is closely integrated with the Columbia Center for Translational Immunology and the Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center. The successful candidates will be expected to participate in clinical care of patients and to contribute to the academic mission of the program as well as to participate in teaching and BMT-specific administrative responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications: M.D. or equivalent medical professional degree is required. Candidate must be board certified or board eligible in Hematology and Medical Oncology and must be eligible to practice in the State of New York.

Preferred Qualifications: applicants that have completed a one-year BMT-fellowship

Salary Range: $200,000 - $280,000.00
