The Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology/Oncology at Columbia University Medical Center (CUIMC) are inviting applications from highly qualified junior and/or midcareer physician at the Assistant Professor level for the Hematology/Oncology Hospitalist Service.  The candidate will serve as attending physician for the inpatient solid tumor hospitalist service each year for a total of six months per year on alternating one-week blocks (7 days on / 7 days off).  An alternative schedule will also be considered if weekends are covered, and all parties are in agreement. While rounding on the inpatient service, it is expected that morning rounds will be conducted on all the patients on the solid tumor service daily and on weekends as required, and will provide educational lectures to students, house-staff and fellows on solid tumor cancers and issues related to the management of the inpatients at least several times per week. In addition, it is expected the candidate will complete all inpatient documentation and billing in a timely fashion. The distribution of clinical responsibilities may be amended from time to time based on clinical coverage need and will be discussed prior to implementation.

The candidate will participate in the fellowship training program of the Division of Hematology/Oncology and the residency training program of the Department of Medicine. 

Qualifications: Candidate must have an M.D. or equivalent medical professional degree and be board certified or board eligible in Hematology and Medical Oncology and must be eligible to practice in the State of New York.

Salary Range: $200,000 - $260,000.00
