Valley-Mount Sinai Comprehensive Cancer Care is seeking an academically oriented BC/BE Hematologist/Oncologist with a special interest in general and malignant hematology.

Valley has joined forces with New York's Mount Sinai Health System to bring exceptional and distinctive care to patients in northern New Jersey. Valley-Mount Sinai Comprehensive Cancer Care provides unique clinical programs for our patients, as well as educational and research opportunities for our staff. We have QOPI certification and accreditation from the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons. Valley’s new state-of-the-art hospital, directly across from our cancer center, is scheduled to open in late 2023 and will anchor a 40-acre healthcare campus.  

Join a busy and collegial group of outstanding Hematologists/Oncologists, and be part of our growing program for patients with blood disorders or hematologic malignancies.  This also is an opportunity to share care with Mount Sinai Tisch Cancer Center specialists for patients who require stem cell transplant or CAR-T cell therapy.

An on-site team at Valley provides support for our active research program, which includes investigator-initiated trials in addition to NCTN and industry-sponsored research. Protected time is available for clinical trials, and intramural funding is available for investigators to develop innovative research programs. Valley-Mount Sinai Comprehensive Cancer Care is the proud recent recipient of a grant to fund initiatives to increase access to clinical trials and other opportunities for underrepresented patient groups.

The successful applicant with share in an anticipated 1 in 8 hematology/oncology call schedule. Requests for flexible work schedules will be considered. Teaching opportunities will be available in 2024 when Valley opens its own Internal Medicine Residency.  Appointment to the faculty of the Icahn School of Medicine at a level commensurate with experience and academic potential is anticipated.

Position requirement:

  • M.D. or D.O. from an accredited school of medicine or osteopathy
  • Board certified or eligible in Hematology. Certification or eligibility in Medical Oncology is highly desirable.
  • NJ State Medical license, DEA, and CDS will be required.
  • Meet all requirements to appointment to the Medical Staff of The Valley Hospital.
