Northwestern Medical Group (NMG) and the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center of Northwestern University seek a Medical Oncologist to serve as a regional Oncology Service-Line Medical Director of the south Region of Northwestern Medicine, Chicagoland’s only clinically integrated, academic health network.

Primary responsibilities for this position include developing medical oncology services in Northwestern Medicine’s southern service area.  Appropriate candidates will provide leadership and direction for the newest member of NM’s clinically integrated cancer network, Palos Hospital. This position will be expected to lead the Palos-based cancer program, including all facets of inpatient and outpatient cancer care.  It will also play a vital role in the growth and coordination of care and other distinctive programming throughout the Northwestern cancer program, and will have significant opportunities for leadership development throughout the Northwestern Medicine system. 

Qualified candidates must have a strong background in clinical medical oncology and be board certified in this specialty.  Mid-career physicians with substantial experience in clinical research and/or prior academic roles are preferred, as are applicants with experience in practice administration or network integration. Medical Oncologists in this position will have the opportunity to participate in academic programs of the Lurie Cancer Center and the Feinberg School of Medicine, including educational and clinical research programs.  Candidates will also be eligible for faculty appointments in the Feinberg School of Medicine.  Salary is commensurate with experience.
