Summary:

 

Westchester Medical Center Health Network (WMCHealth), the academic hospital network of New York Medical College is seeking a physician to join the Division of Gynecologic Oncology. The division offers comprehensive gynecologic cancer care including surgical services, infusion services and radiation treatments including brachytherapy. We promote a collaborative working environment among the physician partners and focus on physician well-being. Our main campus is located 30 miles outside of New York City in the beautiful Hudson Valley. Candidates with either experience or interest in the advancement of a clinical trials program or expertise in medical education with the skills required to secure a fellowship program in gynecologic oncology are invited to apply for this position. We offer a full range of services including a gyn cancer survivorship program, social worker support and a dedicated outpatient palliative medicine program within the division. Our four attending physicians are supported by physician assistants and administrative support. The division has a strong referral base from both within the Network as well as local providers spanning the Hudson Valley, NY. We have a diverse portfolio of research including industry sponsored trials, cooperative group trials, investigator-initiated projects (performance improvement quality improvement). Residents and medical students are included in most research efforts for the division. We are looking for a faculty member who will help us to continue to expand our scholarly efforts as well as take a role in key leadership positions. Senior faculty mentorship is available in clinical, research and leadership domains. We welcome candidates who have a strong interest and background in teaching, clinical trials, and health systems science. We are seeking a candidate who is committed to working collaboratively with the gynecologic oncology faculty and clinical providers and will be an active member of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

 

Job Summary:

 

This goal for this position is to promote the mission of training of future women’s health providers both in the surgical and clinic setting and continue to grow the gynecologic cancer program with outreach, education, physician leadership and research. The position and salary will be tailored to the candidate’s strengths, interests, and experience.

 

Responsibilities:

 

The candidate will have an academic appointment through the New York Medical College and will work with and teach the 17 residents in the WMC OB/GYN Residency Program who cover both the obstetrical and gynecology services.

 

Qualifications / Requirements:

 

The successful applicant must be board certified/board eligible in obstetrics and gynecology and gynecologic oncology. We are seeking a candidate who possesses excellent clinical, communication, interpersonal skills and is committed to patient care, residents, fellows and medical student's education and scholarly activity that advance clinical medicine.
