The Role

The Director, Global Marketing, will be a key member of the Genmab Global Commercial Team and will be responsible for providing commercial insight and leadership into the development of Genmab’s development clinical assets in solid tumors. The Director will analyze the competitive landscape and evolving global market dynamics in order to evaluate the commercial viability of different development strategies.  This role works closely and collaboratively with cross-functional and alliance partners to inform and design the optimal paths to commercialization for products in development. The Marketing Director will also build and implement global marketing plans, develop the foundational brand strategy elements, and define the market entry strategy for products in late-stage development.

  Responsibilities

  • Lead commercial projects for our product and collaborate with business partners and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Provide commercial insights to inform and shape the development plan; collaborate with development team to identify areas of unmet need and clinical relevance in order to optimize clinical study design, increase the probability of success, and drive market value.
  • Drive strategic planning and commercial development; formulate market entry strategies and set the foundation of brand strategy for products in development.
  • Responsible for the development of marketing strategy, marketing plans, and brand development.
  • Develop marketing tactics and deliverables for product commercialization and lead commercial launch across geographies.
  • Lead the HCP Market Preparation and Launch Readiness efforts for relevant indications across different markets/geographies.
  • Responsible for KOL commercial engagement strategy and execution, including leading global commercial ad boards and engagement at congress/ events.
  • Interprets and translates scientific clinical data and market research insights into commercial strategy.
  • Work collaboratively with medical affairs to identify opportunities to acquire and leverage new data that can be used in a promotional setting.
  • Identify future research needs to aid in long-range plan development.
  • Direct the analysis of the business; oversee the identification of key segments, business drivers, priorities, and growth opportunities.
  • Develop and execute situation analysis and assessment of opportunities, ongoing surveillance of emerging technologies and competitive activities, advisory boards, and focus groups.
  • Responsible for monitoring and evaluating competitive landscape and market dynamics.
  • Anticipate paradigm shifts, identify areas of unmet need, and improve market understanding through regular market research, market intelligence, and market tracking
  • Develop forecasting and evaluation models to assess the commercial viability of future indications and development opportunities.
  • Collaborate with business partners across all functional areas.
  • Work closely with appropriate internal and external resources (vendors) to develop and execute appropriate market insights that identify key business needs. 

  Requirements

  • Bachelors’ degree (or international equivalent with a minimum of 12 years of relevant experience OR Master’s/Advanced degree and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive commercial responsibilities with pharmaceutical product(s). Oncology experience is required.
  • Broad marketing experience including pre-launch and brand management; global launch experience preferred.
  • Proven experience leading or collaborating cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
  • Proven experience with marketing management including strategy development, engagement programs, market research, segmentation, competitive dynamics, and issues management in a highly complex and dynamic environment is required.
  • Thorough understanding of the brand development process and necessary commercial touch points; experience working with alliance partners is a plus.
  • Strong business acumen, with the ability to synthesize and communicate data and research outputs, analyze market dynamics, and generate insights that inform strategies and develop effective brand plans.
  • Strong analytical skills including experience with financial models are required.
  • Understanding of the R&D process and the importance of integrating commercial and development strategy and plans.
  • Strong scientific/medical aptitude with the ability to understand complex scientific/medical concepts.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills. Must be proficient with MS Power Point.
