Are you an accomplished leader in oncology care and clinical research seeking an opportunity to advance your career?  Are you committed to enhancing patient care, leading innovative cutting-edge research initiatives, and spearheading the development of a multidisciplinary GI cancer care service?  Consider joining the Northwell Health Cancer Institute at Lenox Hill Hospital, located in the Upper East Side of Manhattan.  We are seeking a full-time, board-certified medical oncologist to serve as Chief to oversee clinical performance and provide the overall strategic direction for Lenox Hill Hospital’s medical oncology and hematology program.

The Chief will lead a team of surgeons, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, pathologists, radiologists, oncology certified nurses, social workers, geneticists, and counselors. This multidisciplinary approach ensures we provide the best care and outcome possible while meeting patients’ physical and emotional needs. The distinguished faculty at Lenox Hill Hospital have trained and worked at some of the most prestigious academic institutions in their fields and have achieved regional, national, and international recognition for their work in clinical care, research, and education.

Our Manhattan location affords you the opportunity to live and work in one of the most exciting cities in the world.  Manhattan offers a seemingly endless array of world-class museums, famed restaurants, Broadway, and off-Broadway theater offerings - all in a culturally diverse atmosphere.  You’ll have your choice to live in one of Manhattan’s charming neighborhoods or modern high rises which form the city’s iconic skyline.

We are a boutique, patient centered program housed within Lenox Hill Hospital. Our clinicians and patients move seamlessly among Lenox Hill Hospital, Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital (MEETH) and our nearby practices, all of which share an electronic medical record. Medical oncology treatments such as chemotherapy and immunotherapy are currently provided in a brand-new infusion center at MEETH. In the fall of 2025, we are excited to announce our practice will relocate to a new state of the art, 200,000 square foot outpatient facility currently under construction a few short blocks from Lenox Hill Hospital.  This Northwell Medical Pavilion, anchored by services from the Northwell Health Cancer Institute, will make world class care more accessible to patients and increase access to specialty care with the incorporation of neuroscience and cardiac care in the facility.

The Cancer Center at Lenox Hill Hospital is part of the Northwell Health Cancer Institute, which treats more than 16,000 cancer patients who have access to the services of more than 200 Cancer Institute physicians in more than 25 sub-specialties. The Feinstein Institute for Medical Research is home to Northwell Health’s research and is an epicenter for scientific discovery and innovation, including basic science and clinical research in molecular medicine, genetics, oncology, brain research, mental health, autoimmunity, and bioelectronic medicine. Northwell Health and Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory have created a strategic affiliation to accelerate cancer research, diagnosis, and treatment. This collaboration offers the ability to deliver cancer therapeutics to patients throughout the region, while also meeting the comprehensive medical and surgical needs of those with cancer and at risk of the disease.

Northwell Health is committed to training, supporting and nurturing physicians from all backgrounds. We fully understand that diversity is integral for our institutional excellence and a means to attaining health equity. Our diversity and inclusion efforts are a part of everything we do, from education to clinical care, to research, to physician well-being. It is our mission to ensure that our diverse patient populations receive equitable care, irrespective of who they are. As a result, we continually recruit a diverse physician workforce to meet all our patients’ needs.

Northwell Health is New York State’s largest health care provider and private employer, with 23 hospitals, more than 600 outpatient facilities and nearly 15,000 affiliated physicians. We're training the next generation of medical professionals at the visionary Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell and the Hofstra Northwell School of Graduate Nursing and Physician Assistant Studies.

All candidates will receive a competitive compensation package, a comprehensive benefits package and eligibility for tuition reimbursement.  Academic appointment with the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell is commensurate with credentials and experience.  Physicians are employed through Northwell Health Physician Partners, one of the largest medical groups in the country.
