Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center, Division of Hematology/Oncology
Established in 1811, Massachusetts General Hospital is one of the world’s most distinguished academic medical centers, and is the original and largest teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School. The Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center is among the leading cancer care providers in the United States. It is a founding member of a Harvard Medical School consortium designated by the National Cancer Institute as a comprehensive cancer center, forming the largest cancer research collaboration in the country. At Mass General, promising new treatments are revolutionizing the future of cancer medicine.
The Mass General Cancer Center currently seeks applications from board-certified or board-eligible medical oncologists/hematologists for a staff oncologist role based at Cooley-Dickinson Hospital, a community hospital in Northampton, MA. In addition to the hematology/oncology practice at Cooley-Dickinson Hospital, there is onsite Radiation Oncology with Mass General Physician Organization radiation oncologists. While primarily focused in the community, this position will have strong oversight and connections to the main campus.
Interested candidates should have a record of success in the clinical care of hematology/oncology patients. Confidence working in a community environment, and dedication and willingness to participate in a multidisciplinary care setting are essential.
From a patient care perspective, candidates should be caring, compassionate, willing to involve patients and families in the decision-making process, and able to coordinate care with colleagues in various departments. Candidates must also be motivated to work with leadership teams in the community and the main campus to build community programs. The opportunity to further subspecialize in solid tumor and hematologic malignancies will be available.
