Neuro-Oncology Faculty Position

There is an opportunity for an academic neurologist or an oncologist with subspecialty training in neuro-oncology to co-lead the Neuro-Oncology Multidisciplinary Program at GW Cancer Center within the George Washington University Medical Faculty Associates (MFA). The MFA is an independent non-profit clinical practice group affiliated with The George Washington University. This is a clinical position, with support for clinical research, along with clinical teaching of students and house staff. The non-tenure-track appointment will be made at a rank (assistant professor, associate professor, or full professor) and salary commensurate with experience. The position entails a mix of ambulatory neuro-oncology clinics and inpatient consultation on the medical oncology or neurology service. In addition to a primary appointment in hematology/oncology, there will be a cross-appointment with the Department of Neurology & Rehabilitation Medicine.

The Division of Hematology/Oncology of the Department of Medicine is a key component of the Oncology Service line within the George Washington Cancer Center (GWCC). The GWCC brings together the resources of the University, the GW Medical Faculty Associates, and the GW University Hospital to expand current treatment and research efforts in the fight against cancer and to position our institution as the premier cancer care provider in the Washington, D.C. area.

Basic Qualifications: Applicants must have board certification or eligibility in neurology or medical oncology, have completed a fellowship in neuro-oncology, and have evidence of excellence in clinical care and clinical research at the time of appointment. They must also be eligible for licensure in the District of Columbia. Experience and interest in teaching students, residents, and fellows is required.

Application Procedure: To be considered, please complete an online faculty application and upload a curriculum vitae and cover letter. Review of applications will begin on February 19, 2024, and will continue until the positions are filled. Only complete applications will be considered. Employment offers are contingent on the satisfactory outcome of a standard background screening.
