Charleston Area Medical Center and the CAMC Institute of Academic Medicine is seeking two exceptional Hematologist Oncologists to join our team at the CAMC Beckley Oncology location. The ideal candidates will be a board-certified/board-eligible physicians with a strong background in hematology and oncology, capable of providing outstanding patient care, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and contributing to the advancement of our oncology program.

The CAMC Beckley Cancer Center is a beautiful free-standing building, providing comprehensive cancer care including radiation and radiology services. The practice is supported by nine midlevel providers for both outpatient and inpatient services.

CAMC Beckley Oncology Group is a vital part of the renowned CAMC Cancer Center, and Vandalia Health. Our Hematology Oncology Fellowship Program at CAMC Cancer Center, has been approved to start July 1, 2024. The candidates will be a part of the teaching faculty and will participate in the fellow’s education remotely. The candidates will have an academic appointment with the CAMC Institute of Academic Medicine. As a part of the Institute of Academic Medicine the candidates will have access to our robust research department and its infrastructure. The candidates can participate or lead clinical trials and can-do investigator-initiated research using national databases. The candidates will be encouraged to participate in disease specific tumor boards.

As a Hematologist Oncologist at CAMC Beckley Oncology, you will play a crucial role in delivering comprehensive and compassionate care to the patients and communities we serve.  You will be part of a larger organization, Vandalia Health - a 17 hospital health system, which is the state’s second largest employer and has been recognized through voting as one of the premier workplaces.

Qualifications:

  1. Medical degree from an accredited medical school.
  2. BC/BE in Hematology and Oncology.
  3. Valid medical license in the state of West Virginia.
  4. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  5. Commitment to providing compassionate and patient-centered care.
  6. Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.

Although it is preferred for the candidates to live in the Beckley area, they will also have the option of residing in Charleston, WV an approximate 45-minute drive. Nestled along the Appalachian Mountains in southern West Virginia, Beckley is a small, welcoming town full of culture and recreation. This region is a heaven for outdoor lovers. Visit New River Gorge National Park for kayaking, white water rafting, rock climbing, hiking, or horseback riding. The world class golf course of Greenbrier resort is a short 45-minute drive. The area is surrounded by famous ski resorts, national parks and forests, picturesque biking and hiking trails, and gorgeous mountains and lakes. Beckley has a small airport with two daily flights to Charlotte, NC. The Yeager International Airport of Charleston is Within in an hour of Beckley.

CAMC Teays Valley Hospital is a 68 bed community Hospital in Teays Valley, WV. The Hospital is a very busy facility with a full complement of Medical and Surgical Services available. The Hospital is an affiliate of Charleston Area Medical Center, a 923-bed regional referral center, located 25 miles away in Charleston, WV. The Hematology/Oncology practice is located near the campus of the Hospital and is new and modern with a comforting environment and appropriate clinical and adjunctive support available. Chemotherapy and Infusion Services are provided in the ambulatory setting and the Hospital has a full service Hospitalist program to assist the Physician with consults and call duties. The Office is a satellite of the CAMC David Lee Cancer Center in Charleston, WV which houses an ACS designated Cancer Program and a QOPI Certified Ambulatory Practice.
