Cedars Sinai Medical Center, one of the nation’s premier academic healthcare institutions, is seeking a full-time faculty physician clinician researcher or PhD researcher to join the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology in the Division of Gynecologic Oncology at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. Cedars-Sinai gynecology was just ranked number 7 in the US and number 1 in Los Angeles in 2023 by US News and World Report. The OB/GYN Department has over 27 faculty members and over 120 private attendings across all Gynecologic and Obstetric specialties. The department has an independent residency program with 7 residents per year, as well as fellowship programs in MFM, REI, MIGS, and GYN Oncology. Cedars Sinai Medical Center is one of the busiest hospitals in California with over 6000 deliveries and over 2500 gynecologic surgical cases per year. The majority of procedures involve resident care which creates a high expectation for excellence in teaching. The Division of Gynecologic Oncology has seven board certified gynecologic oncologists as well as collaborative research scientists in the women’s cancer program. The new faculty member will bring research expertise and funding  in gynecologic oncology and collaborate with existing OBGYN and Cancer Center faculty.  If the new faculty is a clinician they will also work with our private physicians to maintain the highest standards of excellence and carry out the program’s vision of advancing cancer care for women.

The Gynecologic Oncology Division has a long track record of excellence in patient care, research, and resident/fellow education and provides an excellent environment for professional mentorship.  The practice is active both clinically and academically, with a very busy surgical schedule, sizeable clinical trials portfolio, as well as cutting edge translational research.  Outpatients are seen in the Samuel Oschin Comprehensive Cancer Institute and faculty work with a multidisciplinary team including medical, surgical and radiation oncologists, genetic counselors, and palliative care services.  Educational conferences include tumor boards, grand rounds, morbidity and mortality conferences, journal clubs and other didactic opportunities.

If the candidate is a physician/researcher she must be BE/BC in Obstetrics and Gynecology and have completed a Board-approved fellowship program in Gynecologic Oncology. The candidate must be trained and experienced in gynecologic cancer surgeries including minimally invasive laparoscopic and/or robotic surgery, and, must be able to prescribe and manage chemotherapy and eager to assume a major role in direct patient care as part of our highly integrated team.  There must also be a track record of successful funding and publications in gynecologic cancer.  They must be able to work cooperatively and collegially within a diverse environment and must possess or be able to obtain a valid, non-restrictive California Medical License. If the candidate is a PhD researcher they must have a track record of successful funding and publications in gynecologic cancer.  The successful candidate must have a strong commitment to academic medicine and be an excellent educator. Faculty appointments are through the Cedars Sinai Professorial Series and the David Geffen School of Medicine at University of California, Los Angeles in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Our Compensation Philosophy:

We offer competitive total compensation that includes pay, benefits, and other incentive programs for our employees.  The pay range provided takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including knowledge/skills; relevant experience and training; education/certifications/licensure; and other business and organizational factors.  This pay range does not include our comprehensive benefits package and any incentive payments that may be applicable to this role.

MD Clinical Candidates: Pay Range $380,000 - $480,000

PhD Candidates: Pay Range $71,000 - $260,000
