Position Description
The University of Washington (UW) Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology and Oncology is recruiting for a full-time (1.0 FTE) faculty member to join the Melanoma-Renal group. The position would be at the Clinical Assistant Professor or Clinical Associate Professor level. This position will hold an annual appointment that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30) and may be reappointed to subsequent annual terms. Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off.
University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service. The position will focus primarily on ambulatory clinical care of patients with skin and kidney cancers at a world-renowned comprehensive cancer center. The Melanoma-Renal group is committed to providing outstanding patient care, through cutting edge research trials with a strong focus on immunotherapy, to patients with melanoma, Merkel cell carcinoma, other non-melanoma skin cancers, and kidney cancers. We expect this position to actively engage in the group’s research and teaching priorities, while facilitating delivery of exceptional clinical care to cancer patients. Participation in clinical research is encouraged with clinical trials support provided. There is a secondary focus on inpatient consultations with on-call requirements. The position may also involve participation in the clinical and instructional activities of the Division of Hematology and Oncology. Teaching responsibilities would involve oversight of trainees during outpatient and inpatient clinical activities, in concert with the educational programs of the division.
Salary and faculty rank will be commensurate based on qualifications. Total compensation range for this position will be: $27,558 - $37,334 per month ($330,696 - $448,008 annually), and will comprise of a base salary from the UW and an additional Monthly Additional Compensation (MAC) from the UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan. The UW base salary range for this position will be: $15,058- $19,000 per month ($180,696 - $228,000 annually) commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. Other compensation associated with this position will include Monthly Additional Compensation (MAC) from the UWP with a range of: $12,500 - $18,334 per month ($150,000 - $220,008 annually). Qualifications
Requirements include MD or DO (or foreign equivalent), fellowship training in Medical Oncology and Hematology (or foreign equivalent), American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) eligible or certified in Medical Oncology or Hematology (or foreign equivalent).
In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research, and service.
