The University of Iowa Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center and the Division of Hematology, Oncology and Blood & Marrow Transplantation are seeking multiple BC/BE medical oncologists for a growing practice. These positions will be at the rank of Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Full Professor, tenure, or clinical track (non-tenure track), depending on qualifications.
Candidates must have an MD degree or equivalent and evidence of a commitment to clinical teaching, clinical research, and patient care experience in medical oncology. Completion of an ACGME-accredited Residency Program is required. Salary is based on experience and qualifications.
The Carver College of Medicine is part of a major research university and ranks 19th among public universities in NIH research funding. The Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center is a National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center that collaborates closely with the College and the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. A particular strength of the program is a growing portfolio of investigator-initiated and phase I trials including many based-on research being conducted in University of Iowa laboratories. The hospital is one of the largest university-owned teaching hospitals in the United States and is adjacent to the Iowa City Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center. The Department of Internal Medicine is the major teaching and predominant research department in the Carver College of Medicine. It has a distinguished teaching, research, and clinical faculty, with over $35.7 million in annual federal research funding and has a large number of distinguished clinicians who are national and international leaders in their respective subspecialty areas.
