Position Description
The Section of Medical Oncology in the Division of Oncology at Washington University in St. Louis seeks candidates for full time faculty positions at the Assistant/Associate Professor level. Positions are available for medical oncologists with a subspecialty focus on Genitourinary Malignancies.
The successful candidate will not only participate in direct patient care of patients with genitourinary cancers; we are seeking applicants committed to building an outstanding career in patient-oriented clinical or laboratory research. Clinicians interested in clinical trial development are preferred, but laboratory-focused investigators are also encouraged to apply.
The clinician-investigator candidate will enhance the research efforts of the Genitourinary Medical Oncology group by utilizing the exceptional opportunities for multidisciplinary collaboration at the University, including development and conduct of innovative clinical trials, and participation in the Division’s robust and growing phase 1 developmental therapeutics program as applicable.
Faculty members will also actively participate in the teaching and mentorship of fellows, residents, and medical students, aligning with our educational mission.
The Division of Oncology has outstanding resources, a collegial working environment, an impressive track record of clinical and translational research, and a well-organized clinical and research infrastructure, including a well-staffed clinical trials office. The Alvin J Siteman Cancer Center at Washington University is one of the top cancer centers in the country, with Exceptional ratings from the National Cancer Institute over the past decade.
Basic Qualifications
- Board Certified/Board Eligible Medical Oncologist
- Successful completion of Internal Medicine Residency and an Oncology/Hematology Fellowship
- Desire to participate in resident and fellow teaching, with protected time for research
